The Shipyard Cup


Presented by:		April 25, 2013 Shipyard Cup XI to be the best ever The 2013 running of The Shipyard Cup (August 8 - 11) is shaping up to be the best ever in the decade-plus history of this landmark event. This year, we've added an extra day of events and we're also anticipating a brand new participant, the 180-foot MARIE, a black-hulled beautiy built in 2010 by the Vitters Shipyard. MARIE combines a classic profile with a modern underwater hull. In addition, we'll be treated to the Hodgdon-built, hometown favorite and last year's winner SCHEHERAZADE. The event has already been given the Editor's Choice Award by the staff at Showboats International. We are also very excited about our list of loyal sponsors who help make the Shipyard Cup such a special event. This year we are welcoming at least two new sponsors, US Trust and Pantaneus Insurance. As always, we'll be feature the great sailing, beautiful vistas and lobsters that Maine is famous for, not to mention the hospitality, cocktail parties and Corinthian spirit racing that makes a great warm-up for the Newport Bucket.
