Welcome to the 2010 Shipyard Cup!
We have been hard at work planning another great event this year including several enhancements to the event we hope you will enjoy. We continue to strive to make this a relaxed but spectacular event showcasing the best Maine has to offer. Thank you for participating.
To the right you will find links to information and forms that you'll need to participate.
The Race Committee and Rating Committee are experienced race officers using a handicap system based on The Bucket Protocol. Participants will find the courses challenging, safe, and scenic and the results fair.
You will notice we have increased the registration fees and now charge for some guests, a reasonable but necessary evolution in order to sustain The Cup.
We invite all of you to anchor or moor in East Boothbay for registration and the gala Lobster bake Friday, moving over to Boothbay Harbor following racing on Saturday. We will have transportation available between the Hodgdon Shipyard, East Boothbay and WottonÕs Wharf, Boothbay Harbor throughout the weekend.
The Friday night lobster bake is designed to give the crew a "night off", leaving Saturday and Sunday for the owners and crew to dine in town. There are many fine restaurants and taverns that welcome the energy and fun of a crew night out. We strive to wrap up the awards on Sunday, in time to allow those who have to travel the chance to celebrate and still get away long before dark.
We have not scheduled non-race activities this year; however, we have a Local Knowledge Concierge available to you to help guide you with information on golf, tennis, garden tours, lodging, dining, rental car information or other non-race information.
We have a great line-up of sponsors this year that have helped make The Shipyard Cup possible. We hope you will recognize their support throughout the weekend.
